THIS LAND OF MINE
At the heart of the Appalachian mountains, Eastern Kentucky spreads out as one of the United States’ lost territories.
Over time, the locals have developed a strong feeling of insularity and independence regarding the rest of the country as well as a visceral bond with their land. Referred to as hillbillies, they lead a life based on radical individual freedom tightly connected to the surrounding nature.
Among them, Brian Ritchie, our main character. Through his subjectivity, the film will explore the specific relationship these women and men have with a land that they define as much as it defines them.
