A GLORIOUS DAY by Romuald Rodrigues Andrade & Ludovic Aklil Piette, produced by Jerome Nunes and with music composed by Sébastien Damiani, received the Young Audience Award at Music & Cinema Marseille after a week of workshops!

Zhannat Alshanova, director of A WINNER IS SEEN AT THE START, also took part in the festival as part of the European Market for Musical Composition where she met a number of potential composers for the film.

A GLORIOUS DAY by Romuald Rodrigues Andrade & Ludovic Aklil Piette continues to tour in festivals in France and abroad.

The short film was selected inthe Alter-Native Int. Short Film Festival (03/11), in Poland at  Lublin Festival (17/11) and the Ale Kino! Festival in Poznan (29/11). It will also be shown in Morocco at Festival Cinema et Migration in Agadir (from 13 to 18/11) and at Schulkinowoche in Hamburg, Germany (from 20/11 to 01/12). In France, you can catch it at Africlap in Toulouse on 17/11 in Ludovic’s presence and at Festival Education movie d’Évreux on 08/12 in the presence of Romuald.

Gabriella Choueifaty’s first short film, LES PLUIES D’ÉTÉ, has just begun shooting in Lebanon.
Summer 2006, the war rages on and Israeli bombardments rain down on Beirut. The story follows the daily lives of Sariah (13 years old), her older sister and her mother, forced to take refuge in the mountains. Tension mounts between the three women, who react differently to this forced quarantine.

LES PLUIES D’ÉTÉ is a Franco-Lebanese co-production with Né à Beyrouth Films.

The short film by directors Romuald Rodrigues Andrade & Ludovic Aklil Piette continues its run at the Cinebanlieue Festival in the official competition. It will be screened on November 17 at 8:30 pm at the UGC CIné Cité, Paris in the directors’presence!

From the big screen to the small screen, the film will also be broadcast on France 2 in the programme Histoires courtes on Sunday 13 November at 1:20 am! If you’re an early bird, you should know that the film is already available on France.tv and will also be accessible all week long in replay.

Kamel (Ilies Kadri) works with his father, owner of a bar in their housing estate in Vitrolles. Committed and idealistic, he has a long-standing social project for his neighborhood. With his sidekicks Hichem (Malik Bouchenaf) and Youssoufa (Mamadou-Lamine Doumbia), he is invited to present it to the Minister of the City himself, on an official visit to Vitrolles. Kamel is thrown into a communication operation that quickly overtakes him…
